Barnsley 1-0 Blackpool

Iain Hume scored for Barnsley in the last 15 minutes of the game as Barnsley as they helped their push towards play offs against another team who are looking to get there under Ian Holloway.

Coventry 2-1 Scunthorpe

Coventry moved within 3 points of Cardiff in the play-offs with a win against Scunthorpe. It was Jon Stead who opened the scoring in his home debut on the 55th minute and then Coventry double the lead when Sammy Clingan scored with 22 minutes to go. Scunthorpe gave their fans something to shout about when McCann scored in the 83rd minute but it wasn’t enough for Scunthorpe.

Doncaster 1-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace came from behind to get a point at Doncaster, a point which moves them out of the drop zone. Doncaster took the lead when James Coppinger scored 8 minutes before half time. Djilali scored in the 67th minute to give Palace a point, but now could face a blow as rumours are surrounding that Neil Warnock could leave to be QPR boss.

Ipswich 0-0 Bristol City

Ipswich scored in the dying minutes of the match as they thought they had got all three points, but, Roy Keane’s men had the goal disallowed so the game ended with a goalless draw.

Leicester 3-0 Nottingham Forest

Earnshaw came close to taking the lead, but it was Leicester who scored in the second half when Berner scored. Gallagher scored the second from a free kick after being recalled into the team, and Welshman Andy King finished the match off with the 3rd goal.

Middlesborough 2-0 Q.P.R.

Middlesborough beat QPR thanks to a helping hand from QPR as they gifted them with two penalties within the first half. It was Barry Robson who joined Boro from Celtic who scored both penalties on the 39th minute and in stoppage time in the first half.

Preston 3-0 Cardiff

Preston beat Cardiff 6-0 last season and punished them once again. Parkin punished Cardiff as he scored 2 goals in the match and an error from Cardiff’s keeper gifted Brown to score their 3rd goal late on. Cardiff could have got themselves back into the match after Preston went down to 10 men after being 1-0, but Preston scored within a minute of being a man down.

Reading 5-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Reading got a crucial win in their battle to avoid relegation as they thrashed Wednesday. Reading went in 2-0 at half time as Kebe and Rasiak getting the goals for the home team. And they both got goals in the second half with Church getting the 3rd and Rasiak and and Kebe scored within 6 minutes of each other.

Sheffield United 4-3 Plymouth

It was a very nervy game for both sets of fans as Sheffield United took the lead, and Plymouth tried coming back into the match only to be denied. Sheffield United went in at half-time 2-0 up as Camara and Ward scored for the home team. Ward then scored within 2 minutes of the second half to potentially seal the game, but Plymouth fought back. Bolasie scored a minute later to give Plymouth a chance. Mason made it 3-2 in the 57th minute. Sheffield extended their lead when Cresswell scored in the 80 minute and Plymouth replied once again when Mackie scored in the 85th, but there were to be no more goals in a 7 goal thriller.

Swansea 1-0 Peterborough

The Swans kept their unbeaten run in 2010 and their 19th clean sheet of the season as a penalty from Cotterill gave the Swans a win in a match where the visitors were only able to get 1 shot on target. The Swans won’t be happy overall as both Darren Pratley and Ferrie Bodde came off injured with the first 30 minutes of the match.

Watford 1-2 Newcastle

Newcastle took the lead in the first half when Collocini scored his 2nd ever goal in his Newcastle career when a free kick was crossed in, headed across goal for Collocini rising above the defender to head in at the back post. Newcastle then made in 2-0 in the second half when Carroll headed home from a corner. Watford clawed one back late on when Hoskins pounced on a deflected shot in the 91st minute.

West Brom 3-1 Derby

Derby opened the scoring in the second half when Porter scored. Brunt equalised after taking his time to slot past Derby keeper. And it was Brunt scored the 2nd goal before Simon Cox finished the game off with the 3rd goal.
