It has been announced in the last hour that Chester City Football Club have been expelled from the Football Conference with immediate effect. The Conference received over 75% of votes to take action against Chester City after the club had admitted to breaching five of the Conference rules.
The club will now be unable to fulfil any of its fixtures starting immediately with Saturday’s fixture with Oxford. There were no representatives on behalf of the club at the meeting, and the club now face further issues with a winding up order for the 10th of March.
The Conference released the following statement on their website “Member clubs of the Football Conference voted in support of the board of directors’ recommendation to erase Chester City (2004) FC Ltd from membership in accordance with Article 5.2.”
