Barnsley 0-1 Doncaster Rovers

Doncaster kept up their play-off hopes with an away win at Barnsley. The defeat for Barnsley ends their chances of an outside chance of making the play-offs.

James Coppinger scored the goal for Doncaster in the South Yorkshire derby as he curled the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the area.

Coventry 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Both goals came in the second half in this match with the away side taking the lead. Luke Varney as he scored the opener with a goal from an acute angle.

But, unfortunately for Wednesday they were unable to hold on for the win as a former player scored to get the equaliser. It was Richard Wood who took advantage of a mix up between Wednesday players Grant and Purse as he headed in the equaliser.

Derby County 1-0 Leicester City

Play-off hopefuls Leicester were defeated against lowly Derby as their play-off hopes were struck a blow. It was an unfortunate goal to concede as Any King’s pass back to Weale saw the ball roll over his foot and into the back of the net.

Peterborough 0-1 Bristol City

Peterborough slumped to another defeat as a Paul Hartley corner saw substitute David Clarkson rose highest and headed the away side into the lead in the 71st minute.

Peterborough now face a huge task of staying up as they are now 13 points from safety with only 6 games remaining, while Bristol City are 13th only 9 points from the play-offs and could be an outsider if they can make a good winning run between now and end of the season.

Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Blackpool

Blackpool reduced the difference between them and play-offs down to 4 points with two late goals and Ian Holloway returned to his former club.

It was Steven Dobbie who made a one two with Charlie Adam and the latter scored the opener with only 12 minutes to go. Dobbie then went on to get Blackpool’s second as he latched onto Bannan’s pass to secure the points for the away side.

Preston North End 2-2 Queens Park Rangers

Preston threw away a goal lead as QPR came back to earn a draw. Billy Jones got the opener with a great finish, and Callum Davidson got the second 10 minutes into the second half. QPR came back fighting and got a goal back within a minute with Ramage scoring. QPR completed their comeback when Priskin getting the equaliser in the 66th minute.

Reading 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

Reading took the lead within 6 minutes when Sigurdsson after he received a pass from Bertrand and coolly finished. Reading looked like they were going to grab all three points but Tamas scored late on for the visitors to share the spoils.

Sheffield United 0-1 Scunthorpe (Sunday Kick Off)

Sheffield couldn’t take advantage of the results on the Saturday with Swansea drawing and Leicester City losing as they lost at home against Scunthorpe. It was Paul Hayes who gave Scunthorpe the lead in stoppage time in the first half as he turned the ball home after a cross into the box from McDermott.

Watford 1-1 Middlesbrough

John Eustace grabbed the first goal of the game for the home side when he volleyed home from the edge of the area. Middlesbrough fought back though and Leroy Lita got a goal back for the away side when he pounced on a loose ball.
