Hamburg Sack Coach Bruno Labbadia

By on Monday, 26th April 2010

Hamburg announced on Sunday that Coach Bruno Labbadia had been released from his duties at the club only three days before Hamburg face a Europa League Second Leg Semi-Final against Fulham.
Fulham managed to hold onto a goalless draw in Hamburg in the first leg and Hamburg failed to impress on Sunday evening when they travelled to Hoffenheim and were drubbed 5-1.
Club Chairman Bernd Hoffmann released the following statement “We saw that as things were we would not be able to succeed against Fulham.”
It is believed that assistant coach Ricardo Moniz will take control of Hamburg until the end of the season, with his first task coming on Thursday to reach the Europa League Final.
