It is understood that Jose Mourinho has been having talks with Real Madrid today regarding him becoming the new manager of Real Madrid.
It is believed that Mourinho has agreed in principle to join Madrid as is expected to meet the Inter Milan in the next couple of days to confirm and officially tell them that he is going to leave them and join Madrid.
Mourinho said: “When I first went to Porto they were not winning the championship and they were not making headway in the Champions League. Chelsea had not won a major title in 50 years. And Inter was a difficult challenge too. They wanted to win not only at home but in Europe too. So I have taken on difficult jobs with difficult clubs in the past and I have always had the motivation to do the work. At Porto, at Chelsea, at Inter we always had successful seasons. For me now Madrid will just be another club trying to win important things.
“Yes Real Madrid has a huge dimension and that is exciting. But the important thing is they want me to win, they want me to face up to the difficult challenges they have. To do that you need to have spirit, you need to have the motivation, you need to have the belief. You have to build a team and that team must work together. This is the pride that I have when I look at my champions Inter. They are a magnificent family of players, marvellous. That’s why I am very proud of what we did together, winning the Treble, is so special.”
