Germany smashed their way past England to progress in the World Cup knockout stages as they smash 4 past a very poor England. Although England did have a clear goal not given when the ball clearly crossed the line, England were very poor and were tought a lesson by the German national side.

Germany opened the scoring through Klose as he pounced on a long goal kick from Neuer and with John Terry and Matthew Upson unusre at the back it gave the German striker a chance to stab the ball past David James. Germany looked the much better team with England’s defence very unorganised, and they soon got a second goal. Muller played through and chipped the ball across for Podolski, but the German took a heavy touch and narrowed his angle on goal but still manage to fire past David James and score off the post.
England didn’t really look like scoring but did so 8 minutes from time as a short corner was taken, crossed in by Steven Gerrard for Matthew Upson to header past the advancing keeper. England were then robbed of an equaliser just before half-time as Frank Lampard’s chipped shot hit the bar and clearly bounced over the line and back out but the officials didn’t award the goal to the fury of the England players, staff and fans.
England came out in the second half looking to get back on even terms with the Germans and did see a few shots saved by the German goalkeeper. But, as the English committed men forward the Germans looked very strong when counter attacking. Germany’s persistance finally paid off in the 67th minute as Thomas Muller recieved the ball wide in the penalty area and smashed the ball at David James who couldn’t keep the ball out. Muller then got his second and Germany’s fouth of the game when he got on the end of a low ball across goal and tapped the ball into the back of the net.
All in all England have ended a very dissapointing World Cup as they did not perform to their capabilities throughout the tournament and will now have to go back to England to face the English media and all the dissapointed England fans.
