USA and Ghana were the second match of the knockout stages and it was Ghana who progressed to the next round as they beat the USA 2-1 after extra time.
Ghana got off to a great start as they took the lead after 5 minutes through Kevin-Prince Boateng as he charged through the USA half before striking the ball low past Tim Howard.
The USA didnt give up though as they eventually scored in the 62nd minute as Londan Donovan converted a penalty kick. As the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes the game went into extra time. And Ghana didnt take long to score the final goal as Gyan Asamoah pounced on a long ball upfield and smashed the ball past Tim Howard.
Ghana will now progress to the Quarter-Finals of the World Cup and will now face Uruguay.
