Swansea City came from behind for the first time in a while to overcome League One Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
However they did not have it all their own way and went behind after 20 minutes after Garry Monk let Enoch Showunmi in, the former Luton striker curling a shot in from a tight angle to create the potential for the upset of the round.
The Swans were poor in the first half and Showunmi should have had a hat-trick but the classy visitors’ possession eventually told and quick-fire goals from wingers Cedric van der Gun and new signing Scott Sinclair.
The Dutchman knew little about his goal as benefitted from a fortunate deflection after Orlandi had slammed against the post, whilst Sinclair was set up by Shefki Kuqi and utilised some incredible skill to round the keeper and slot home.
Provider Kuqi then provided the icing on the cake for the Swans’ first win on the road this season under Brendan Rodgers with a simple tap-in from close range in stoppage time.
