Watch nPower Championship Highlights of Nottingham Forest 1-1 Leeds United on 15.08.2010
Championship new-boys Leeds United came from behind to earn their first point of the season at The City Ground against pre-season promotion contenders Nottingham Forest.
The Yorkshiremen did it the hard way though as Forest took an early lead through Dexter Blackstock’s header from a Chris Gunter cross after just nine minutes.
Robert Earnshaw would then hit the post for Forest as they pushed to extend their lead however Leeds slowly worked themselves back into the game.
And eventually their hard work paid off on 34 minutes when Lloyd Sam glanced a header past Lee Camp from a Johnson cross.
Neil Kilkenny could have stolen all three points for the visitors with a late shot however it sailed agonisingly wide and the spoils were shared.
And Paul Anderson could have given Forest the lead after Sam’s equaliser but his chested effort was easily kicked free by Kasper Schmeichel when either side of him would have seen a definite goal.
Tempers ran high during the game and threatened to boil over late on when Gunter and Sanchez Watt of Leeds clashed.
However a point a piece sees both teams lift out of the bottom three in the embryonic league table.
