Bolton fight back after having goalkeeper sent off and being two goals down to earn a draw at home to Birmingham City.
It didnt take long for the first goal to be scored at the Reebok Stadium, with Birmingham opening the scoring on five minutes. Roger Johnson scoring his first goal of the season after Cameron Jerome flicked on Lee Bowyer’s cut back.
Bolton were very shacky at the back with Birmingham’s Larsson floating in a few deep free-kicks with Bolton only managing to scramble the ball away.
Bolton finally got their chance when new signing Petrov forcing Ben Foster into making a save.
Birmingham had a penalty appeal turned down not long before half-time when Elmander seemed to have clipped Cameron Jerome’s foot before getting his shot away. Bolton minutes later had a chance of their own to draw level as Stuart Holden’s free kick causing Foster some problems before tipping the ball over the bar.
Bolton were reduced to 10 men around 5 minutes before half-time as Roger Johnson fouled keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, but as the defender apologises to the keeper he slaps him in the face earning himself an early bath.
Birmingham doubled their lead 5 minutes into the second half as McFadden crossed the ball into the box for Cameron Jerome to head back for Craig Gardner who scored at the second attempt. Despite Bolton’s appeals for offside against Jerome the goal stood, Jerome seemed to be onside from the replay.
Five minutes later Bolton came close as the ball was crossed in for Elmander who saw his shot saved by keeper Ben Foster.
On the 70th minute Bolton were awarded a penalty as the referee deemed that Roger Johnson fouled Kevin Davies in the air. Kevin Davies picked himself up and scored the penalty, sending thee keeper the wrong way.
Bolton got an equaliser with 10 minutes remaining. Robbie Blake scoring from a free kick from 20 yards out against his former club.
With 5 minutes added on in injury time Cameron Jerome was played through on goal and his poor shot was saved by substitute keeper Bogdan, with Craig Gardner seeing his shot dipping over the bar soon after.
