Newcastle started off the better of the two sides with Andy Carroll doing his best to get the opening goal, but despite all of Newcastle’s efforts it was the home side who took the lead.

Newcastle kept on pushing for an equaliser and it was Andy Carroll who got the equaliser as he rose unmkared in the box to header in the ball.

The match was a very firery encounter as the referee branded 11 yellow cards with no red cards but the match ended in a draw.
