Tottenham Hotspur fans were dissapointed last night as defender Michael Dawson came off injured during England’s international match against Bulgaria.
The defender was taken to hospital and had a scan today which revealed that he has sprained his left knee ligament and will be out for 6-8 weeks.
This injury will rule Dawson out of three UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures and several Barclays Premier League fixtures.
It is understood that England manager Fabio Capello will not call up a replacement for Michael Dawson.
In his squad already Fabio Capello has Matthew Upson, Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill. It is also understood that Jagielka will have one of the starting berths in the next England game. With Gary Cahill replacing Dawson with half an hour to go in the game Capello may decide to give the Bolton Wanderers a starting berth, but could also team up Upson with Jagielka.
